In the Piazza della Signoria, right in front of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, you will find the Neptune Fountain. This imposing work of art is made of marble and bronze and was inaugurated in 1565. The statue is a whopping 560 centimeters high!
In this photo you can see how the statue falls into the shadow of the Palazzo Vecchio. The face of Neptune is turned and faces the sun. To enhance the shadow effect and the contrast between 'shadow and light' we added an artistic black and white effect to the shadow side.
