About the artwork

I love this photograph for the story behind it. A few years ago a French woman contacted me and said that all was well, but I lived in nice forest whilst there was no such thing where she lived. I asked her where she lived and being a stubborn person who likes to prove other people wrong, I decided to go there on the vey next trip to France. I booked a hotel for two nights in the area and on my way further south I stopped over there and in the early morning we drove up to the nearest forest, only 5 minutes from where this woman lived. I was not convinced about the conditions. It had been 38 degrees for 2 weeks, but we went up there anyway. A patch of fog hovered over the mountain road and I called out : stop! to my husband who dutifully stopped the car and let me out. This was the first image I was able to create, right on the side of the road. The forest turned out to be amazingly beautiful and I had to chuckle that I had been able to prove her wrong. Especially when weeks later I posted this image and she said: "that is what I mean, we don't have forests like that over here"
