Many times in Thailand I visited matches of the national sport: Thai Boxing.
Sometimes in large halls with multiple rings and many bars where scantily clad Thai ladies tried to sell you as much beer as possible; sometimes also in the larger stadiums where the more professional matches take place. This painting reflects my impression of such a stadium: a cacophony of colours and sounds (see among others the little orchestra on the right of the painting), crowds and stampede .... and, of course, the boxers as the shining centrepiece.
