The Leuvenum Brook meanders through the Leuvenum forest on the Veluwe in spring. The trees have not yet fully grown leaves and reflect light green in the water of the stream. There are undecayed red-orange leaves along the bank that were blown off the trees in the previous fall. So two seasons are visible in the photo. Here and there, small dams of brushwood have been installed to raise the water level. The stream is also called Hierdensche beek and Staverdense beek, depending on the area through which it flows on the Veluwe. The forest is owned by the Vereniging Natuurmonumenten, which manages the nature reserve. Famous places in the vicinity are Ermelo, Nunspeet and Elspeet.
