About ‘sunset on texel’ by Karen Velleman

A colour photograph of Texel's beach, taken during the last light of the day. The sun is sinking just below the horizon, its orange glow stretching across the wet sand and laying a soft sheen over the landscape. The sea is in motion - waves roll slowly towards the shore, reflecting the warm light and breaking into patches of foam.

A remnant of blue lingers in the sky, mixed with soft clouds taking on pastel colours: pink, peach, light grey. The contrast between the warm undertone of the sun and the cool blue above it gives the image depth and calm.

No people are visible, only elements in interplay - sky, water, sand and light. The beach looks empty, but not deserted. It exudes that typical transition between day and night in which everything seems to fall silent except the sea itself.

The picture is not spectacular, but it is intense. No drama, no excess - just the simplicity of a natural moment in which everything is right.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
