Amsterdam, the city that never bores and where I can often be found with my camera.
I took this photo on the Singel, one of the city's oldest canals. It is a place where time seems to stand still: the characteristic narrow buildings, each with their own charm, reflect beautifully in the water.
On this evening, I was lucky that there was almost no wind. The water was mirror-smooth, making the reflection of the buildings and the warm lighting almost fairy-like. While the city around me came alive, there was a special peace here at the canal.
With camera on tripod and settings carefully chosen, I waited patiently for the right moment. The blue hour, that magical time between day and night, provided exactly the atmosphere I hoped to capture.
At home, the second part of the process began: post-processing the shot. I always pay a lot of attention to this, so that the photo comes as close as possible to the image I had in mind on location.
The result is a cityscape that captures the Singel's unique charm. A piece of Amsterdam that never gets boring and which, in my opinion, will be a wonderful addition to your wall.
