About the artwork

On the island of Hornøya, on Norway's northern coast, the guillemot colony forms one of the most impressive bird colonies in the country, perhaps in the whole world. Thousands of guillemots nest here on the steep cliffs, where they sit close together for protection from predators. These slender, black-and-white seabirds spend most of their lives at sea, but return to Hornøya each spring to breed.

Here are a few ideas for interior styles in which I think this picture would look good:

Scandinavian interior: Light tones, natural materials and minimalist look. Brings out the sense of calm and simplicity.

Industrial: Raw, dark materials such as concrete, brick and metal. A high-key photo in can create a strong contrast. This makes the photo a real eye-catcher, while the monochrome palette nicely complements the colours and textures of an industrial interior.

Modern minimalism: Clean lines, neutral colours and few decorative details. This photo can be a subtle, artistic addition.

Country-chic: In a country interior with light, natural elements such as wood and linen, this high-key black-and-white photo can add a modern touch. It brings balance between the modern and the warm, country feel.
