When I look at this work, I immediately feel a little calmer. As if the buzz in my head dissolves and floats upwards, as some colours (on the paper) also seem to do. I can leave my thoughts for a moment and take a deep breath.
This work is a cut-out of a watercolour I made on paper with acrylic inks. Up close, you might then also be able to see the texture of the paper, or a small stray pink dot, which landed in a different place (in green or white) while painting.
I love the shapes and colours that emerge when I let go of control when painting. For this work, for instance, I used only magenta (pink) and two shades of green, but mixing on paper also created a blue/purple shade.
Another cutaway from this work is available at Work on the Wall. Nice to combine!
