A lucky shot because I was totally not expecting this to happen, which is the best description of how this picture came about.
During Frisian Flag 2023 at Leeuwarden Air Base, about a dozen fighter planes took off, until this Luftwaffe Eurofighter with registration 31-34 of the Tactical Air Force Squadron 31 )also called "Boelcke") from Nörvenich took to the skies with a huge noise.
This turned out to be a so-called 'High performance take-off'. In this, literally all brakes go off and pilot and fighter go airborne as fast as possible.
This action is also performed, for example, when foreign (read: Russian) aircraft approach the airspace and a quick reaction is required. Never seen before and therefore totally unexpected: fortunately I was just able to focus the camera on the Typhoon that took off at lightning speed.
