About ‘Eye in eye’ by Hans Kwaspen

In this work, titled "Eye in Gaze", I bring together the magic of coincidence and confrontation in one mesmerising frame. While photographing industrial heritage, my eye - literally and figuratively - fell on this graffiti of a large, female eye that seems to be looking at you from behind a curtain of blue shapes. It is as if she wants to say something, but is caught in steel and paint.

My inspiration came from the thought: who is looking at whom? By photographing the work close to the metal surface, I emphasise the contrast between the expressive gaze and the cold structure. It evokes an almost surreal atmosphere, akin to the work of Roy Lichtenstein and Takashi Murakami, where pop culture and emotion collide with graphic directness.

What makes this work special? It grabs your attention immediately, however subtly. The eye seeks connection - with you, with space, with life outside. As a work of art on the wall, it not only brings colour, but also a presence. It feels like a silent witness in the room, a symbol of perception and introspection. Perfect for anyone who loves art with character, mystery and a touch of humour.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
