The fancy stalk mycena (Mycena inclinata) is a mushroom in the family Mycenaceae. It lives saprotrophically and grows in bundles on wood of dead stumps (of oak and sometimes beech) in deciduous and mixed forest.
Stem
The stem is long and thin. It has a length of 5 to 10 cm and a thickness of 1.5 to 4 mm. The thickness is approximately equal at the top and bottom. Generally, the stem is 2 to 3 times as long as the diameter of the cap. The stem is whitishly frosted and has a colour gradient from white at the top, through brownish-orange, to dark brown. The lower part of young stems is covered with white spots. The base of the stem is covered with a yellowish mycelium that can be up to a third of the length of the stem.
Spores
The spores are white in colour and have a size of 7-9 × 5-6.5 μm.
