About ‘Into the kiln’ by RednaS Photography

Into the Kiln

For generations, brick kilns formed the heart of the brick-making industry. Where once the heat of the fire reigned and work went on ceaselessly, silence has slowly taken over the space. The rails, once intended to transport trolleys laden with bricks through the kiln, now lead only to the streaming daylight at the far end of the room.

When taking photographs, I am not looking for decay, but for the atmosphere that arises when a place has lost its original function. In this old brick kiln, it is not the walls or the rust that catch the eye, but the interplay of light, shadow and the powerful lines of the rails. The natural light gives the space new meaning and invites us to look beyond the abandoned surroundings.

‘Into the Kiln’ forms part of my series ‘Echoes of Silence’, which centres on light, time and the traces of human activity. These are not sensational images of decay, but photo's that show how silence and history can together tell a new story.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
