About ‘Marrakech at Sunset’ by Hassan Hamdi

This painting captures the bustling heart of Marrakech at a magical moment: the sun is sinking behind the city, illuminating Djemaa el Fna square with fiery shades of yellow, orange and red. In the middle you can see the silhouette of the Koutoubia mosque, while the market is buzzing with people, stalls, music and smell.

I was inspired by the power of this square, where daily tradition, chaos and poetry come together. Using thick layers of acrylic paint and the palette knife, I wanted to depict the intensity of sound, colour and movement. The work is not literal, but emotional: as if you feel rather than see the square.

The composition is explosive and full of contrast, where the light seems to literally splash out of the canvas. The rough touch makes it dynamic and lively, like the city itself.

A powerful work for anyone who has Morocco at heart - or is simply touched by the fire of colour, culture and movement.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
