Two yellow pompom flowers on slender stems, surrounded by large, wrinkled leaves. I built the background out of blocks and circles, as if looking through windows and posters at the same time. The texture is grainy and a touch vintage; the shadows around the shapes give just enough depth. This work is from the Pastel Flora series.
The yellow spheres do what they should: they make you happy. Yet the dark green keeps the whole thing calm. You can easily combine it with ceramics, linen and plants-and it hangs just as nicely in a hallway as in a dining room.
The atmosphere is calm and summery. Ideal above a sofa, but also beautiful in a bedroom or yoga corner. The piece works well with light wood and sand tones; a green accent wall may also do. It's one of those prints that nods every day: calm down, breathe, keep going.
