About ‘Sewing buttons’ by Karolina Grenczyk

This is a collage of a girl with blue hair sewing. The background is a collection of buttons and coins. The girl purses her lips and looks intently at the piece of fabric she holds in her hands.

Making work related to everyday activities appeals to me because I find that beauty also resides in simple activities like doing housework or mending clothes.

It is a modern image with vibrant colours, referring to classic work that also captured the daily, domestic work of women. You could say it is a nod to painters like Johannes Vermeer.

The feeling with this work is one of serenity. Precise chores like sewing can evoke a sense of really being in the moment.

The image is made up of layers of coloured paper. There are also some drawing-like elements; the eyes and lips, for example. The collection of buttons and coins, I placed on the plate of my printer and copied several times. When I was satisfied, I coloured the copy

The pastel colours and the cutting technique fit nicely with buyers who like something hippy in their homes.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
