The artwork shows the World Time Clock at Alexanderplatz with the Berlin TV Tower in the background - captured on a sunny summer's day. The scene is characterised by the contrast between the cylindrical structure of the clock with its international time zones and the slender, vertical television tower, whose sphere rises strikingly into the sky. The blue sky with scattered clouds and the sunlight shining through lend the picture a clear, bright atmosphere. On the right-hand side, modern buildings frame the motif.
The inspiration for this work was the connection between time, space and urban identity. Both buildings stand for orientation - geographically and culturally - and are firmly anchored in the collective image of Berlin. I was particularly interested in how these symbols could be restaged in a summery light without exaggerating them.
The aim was to create an open, accessible atmosphere - a moment between everyday life and symbolism. The picture invites us to reflect on movement, change and the role of public places in the cityscape.
In interior design, this work acts as an urban accent with a cultural reference. It fits well into modern living or working spaces and brings a piece of Berlin atmosphere into the room - visually clear, historically charged and versatile in combination.
