About ‘sunset Opal Coast’ by Peter Poppe

The Opal Coast (French: Côte d'Opale) is a coastal strip in the Hauts-de-France region in the north of France. It covers part of the coastline along the English Channel, from Dunkirk to Berck at the mouth of the Authie. The French coastal strip on the North Sea, between the Belgian border at Brayduinen (Bray-Dunes) and Dunkirk, is called the Côte des Dunes de Flandre (Coast of the Flemish Dunes) and is the French part of the Flemish coast.
The name Opal Coast was first used in 1911 by the painter Édouard Lévêque: "Is there something in nature that possesses this variety of changing colours? Yes, that's the opal, the precious gemstone that causes that series of eruptions of red and green over and over again. From now on, in addition to the Côte d'Azur, the Côte d'Émeraude and the Côte d'Argent, we can also add the Côte d'Opale, our Opal Coast"!
The character of the coast changes the further west one goes. Is the North Sea coast in the vicinity of Dunkirk (French Westhoek) fairly flat with a modest strip of dunes, the extreme northwest point along the Strait of Calais at Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez is characterized by chalk cliffs rising high above the sea.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
