Elizabeth Gould (1804-1841) was a British artist and illustrator, married to ornithologist and painter of animals John Gould. She made this illustration of two white cockatoos.
I used the birds from her illustration to digitally create this Trompe-l'oeil, a technique in fine art that intentionally creates an optical illusion.
It is as if the birds are inside a window in a wall.
You may recognise the tropical landscape in the background as t painting "Landscape in Brazil", painted in 1652 by Dutch painter Frans Jansz. Post.
