A brightly popping sun on the dividing line between winter and spring. The sun is showing itself more and more, but the trees are still bare. They have yet to begin the new season. Nature is slowly awakening. The wind is often still cold and even bleak, but the warmth of the sun is clearly perceptible. The sun is getting stronger and stronger. Here, in a light blue sky, the sun is still shining brightly above the bare trees along the Ringvaart canal in Purmerend. I took photo right up against the sun to increase the contrast. I deliberately maintained the light lens flare. I find that lens flare to this extent adds to the experience.
I tried to capture the relative harshness of winter with the softness of spring. The sun here is still both hard and soft. The beginning of the new season is clearly visible here.
