Woodland with ancient beech trees in autumn
This is again a scene from my childhood days, trees that I have know all my life and even though they have seen better days, I am sure I never appreciated them the way I do now that they are about to disappear. When you grow up in a place like this, you don't see how extraordinary your surroundings really are until you are older and have been away for a little while. I photographed this scene in the midst of autumn on a slightly misty morning and this made this scene become more than it ever was before, even though I don't really like autumn colours. This image was shortlisted for the IGPOTY awards and is a firm favourite of mine
